Great Power Alliances

Why is it that when I have more than one alliance with a great power one or both will dissolve it, but the ai can? In my current game as Germany I'm wanting to knock Britain off her perch at the top (I'm only 300 points behind) but I cant find an ally to help me, Britain has 3 GP alliances (France, Russia, and Austria) whilst the other 'great powers' are the Netherlands, Belgium, and Denmark (somehow) so they're hardly strong allies. Why is GB allowed so many allies when I'm not?

First off, you listed 9 nations as great powers when there is only ever 8 at once, so, nice BS there! Next, if it's past 1890, then you definately can have multiple GP allies. It's a matter of you're doing something they don't like which you're leaving out, so it'd be helpful if you gave an example of a time they disolved an alliance. Most likely, it's gonna be when you started a war you didn't call them into as the AI seems to get jealous when they're left out of wars, especially if you add a wargoal. Meaning if you've been starting long wars against other nations where you haven't been calling your allies in because you wanted to make sure they didn't demand anything you wanted etc, yeah, that would be why they disolved the alliance.

Great Power alliances. Do i need to explain? Great War discovered, stuff and stuff, you should know that.

As for you jealous with UK having many allies, it depends on the love-hate factor you have with great powers. May i ask, why is Japan & USA not in the list? That's such a weird game, what happened to Italy too?

Once you form Germany, UK is less likely to ally you unless you're godly overpowered. If you haven't taken anything the Italian are interested in, they're quite likely to ally you. Though as Germany, it all comes down to your strength. And i always did it via anschluss. Of course to downscale my powers, I release Hungary, for some fair play at least.

As Germany, your very likely allies are USA, Japan, Scandinavia (If it exist), Ottoman Empire. Austria i don't know, because i've anschlussed them. France because of Alsace-Lorraine. Italy is too weak. Russia, not like me. UK, as mentioned, will abandon you once you form Germany. Will take some time for UK to break up with you if not instantly.
