How can you prevent rebels?
My game always gets ruined by a horde of rebels 5 times the size of my army rising up.
How do I prevent them from rising up or at least not get too big.
And while I'm already here, can someone please explain to me the army size cap because it feels like every other nation has a much bigger army and the game jst doesn't eplain how it works

Keep your militancy low. Make sure you have access to the resources your pops want and that they can afford them and (this seems like a common noob trap) pass the reforms with the largest movement behind them. You recruit brigades from soldier pops, so promoting soldiers will increase your brigade limit.

Your army cap is determined by your number of soldier pops above a certain size (3k?) with each granting +1 then additional units at higher population thresholds.

3k for core states, 9k in non-core states, 15k in colonies, and 24k in protectorates. First brigade is possible at 1/3 the people for future brigades.

Low tariffs, low taxes, and advanced social reforms help your pops to afford things.

I amde taxes and tariffs as low as possible, I can't do a social reforms because I don't have enough support for it. And I still got a rebellion

What countries are you playing?

If you're playing a liberal nation, then just pass reforms the second they become available. This won't prevent nationalist uprisings, but it will drastically decrease the number of political rebels. Another thing you could do is boost the party popularity of a particularly annoying group of rebels. I tend to find Fascist rebels to get really annoying late game, so I normally just elect the fascists into power.

If you're playing a conservative nation with a lot of non-core pops such as Russia or the Ottomans... boost your soldier pops and station armies intermittently through your territory set to hunt rebels. They'll kill the smaller rebel stacks before they can join together. Remember, a properly made army of 30 can easily beat a rebel stack of 100. You could also just let some socialist or jacobin rebels take over, though this will destroy any monarchist rps and hurt your prestige. Rebels only need to hold your capital for a year for you to flip. Just kill every rebel stack except for one, and escort it to your capital, unsieging any provinces that they take.

There's also certain territory that you never ever want to take due to crisis spam and rebel spam. Greece and any German territory if it isn't an accepted culture will cause far more problems than it's worth unless you're an undisputed power.

Correct, 1K always for the first, then at every 3K for every after if a cored state, and at every XXK for other kinds of state (state non-cored, colonial and protectorate have different rates.)
