MSVCP100.dll Missing Fix
Deleting the map cache or installing the 2010 Redistributable Package did not work for me, but this did for you guys that had the same problem of a instant crash after pressing play on the launcher.

https://www.reddit.com/r/victoria2/comments/aduh8g/problem_running_victoria_2_msvcr100dll_not_found/ The game is free for the fix, so it cost nothing if you don't have it.

You didn't try installing the 64-bit version, did you?

I did o.o

I assumed the laptop I was using is new enough to be on that. I tried 84 bit too as the suggestions I read said but never did I try the 32 bit. This was my first time with this issue and I only went through fixes for roughly an hour before finding this one. I already had CK2 installed so I just had to start it up and then after that I went to Victoria 2 and it worked.

The laptop probably runs 64-bit Windows, but the game is 32-bit, and requires the 32-bit redist.

Sorry for the late reply.

I uninstalled the game, deleted and uninstalled all the programs and files it put on, the same with Crusader Kings 2. I installed the 64 bit and 84 bit programs and that got it to work. Starting up CK2 did not make it work this time. However it did before so I don't know why it changed unless I missed something. but I never touched the 32 bit since I wanted to try the other options again first. My point is the 32 bit was not needed for me. The 64 and 84 were enough.

I could try this again with 32 bit though if you would like me to.

There is no 84-bit. The version labeled x86 is the 32-bit version. The 32-bit redist is a hard requirement, but for some reason Steam doesn't seem to handle it for this game. It should install it for other games that require it, though.

Oh my bad. I looked at my last message and I said it there so I assumed I was right and did not double check.

Ah okay, I see what you mean. So I probably did not need to install the 64 bit and the 86 bit would have been enough.
