Modding in new units
Hello gentlemen, I would like to mod into the game new unit types such as grenadiers, lancers and specific types of cavalry and infantry for each faction since I love this game and I thought of starting it again while modding in in-depth combat options. However I have troubles with the modding process. Did anybody do this before? Does anybody have any insight or do you know where to look for tutorials on this particular matter?

You cannot change the way the combat itself works - that is hardcoded into the sourcecode to which you do not have acess to it.

Adding / Changing unit types is definetly doable. I haven't done it myself so far, but I don't see a reason for it not to work.
If nobody else who has experience offers help, feel free to add me and we'll figure it together out :)

Well I have a good grasp on the process itself but the game crashes for no apparent reason. I have posted a question on paradoxplaza but nobody seems able to or willing to answer. Apologies for the lateness... completely forgot that this thread existed lol. Necro'ing so bad. But whatever, here are the changes I made: mediafire com /file/lle7kobo6iee12d/PROTOTYPE_MOD.rar

I just tried adding Grenadiers and Uhlans to the unit roster while balancing out some stats overall. Nothing too fancy, however the units dont work.
