Ottomans always protecting Tunis??

im playing as Two Sicillies and im really new to the game ,ive about 250 hours in hoi4 , and vic2 looks really good, but anyway im playing as 2sicilies and i declare war on Tunis to Establish a Protectorate ,ive done this 3 times in 3 different games and always just before Tunis peace, Ottomans always join their side. Why? (:

Go to the diplomacy menu.

Countries that are friendly with a country on the influence screen can intervene to restore the status quo.

Perhaps they're a puppet of the Ottomans?

Ottomans have abysmal literacy and tech, they're basically like an unciv that's allowed to do researches and build factories. Invest in some military techs especially to boost Military Tactics and you should be able to trash them in combat. They lag way behind in technology.

Also, in many cases when you annex a country, the war will end in white peace even if there was someone else intervened, so try finishing the war with Tunisia and seeing if that causes Ottomans to peace out.

Might be a good idea to bully them hard and take some of their islands or push on Egypt.

okay, right now the russians and french are banging them so i might hop in on that and take the africas hopefully
