Garibaldi's Rebellion Won but Nothing's Happened
I read that the rebellion would lead to an event to unify Italy, so I thought that letting them win while playing as Two Sicilies would make that happen. They've controlled all of my land for a coupel months now, but nothing has happened. Either I'm missing something or the rebellion hasn't techncally worked somehow.

Maybe the game feels bad for you and simply doesn't want you to get annexed that easily lol! Should the event have fired and you accepted, I'm pretty sure that would have meant your annex- ation as the event unites Italy under Piedmont as happened historically, I think if you play as Krakow and release Poland as I once did, you get game over due to annexation just as you would. Alternatively if you declined and the rest of Italy did unite, then you'd have this stronger neighbour to the North with cores on your land who will never leave you alone, trust me, AI Italy will keep suiciding into Austria no matter how much stronger Austria is and how much better Austria's diplomancy is. Maybe the event will still fire? I doubt it as rebellions just require the rebels to control the capital for a month as I've proven here before, though you're trying to archive your goal the wrong way reguardless.

I figured it out, the problem is that I didn't realize it took them to hold the capital for a year. I was simply able to tag switch to Piedmont and wait until the event fired. I meant to come back to this thread and delete it a little while ago but forgot about it until now since I had my answer.
Well, okay, I guess nationalist rebels take a year while others only take a month.
