I don't watch the TV show or read the comics, but I still know that she's a pretty popular character that appears in both.

She isn't in the main game. But this is meant to fill in a story game from the comics about Michonne.

Telltale TWD series are spin off of comic series. Basically same world, but different characters. They do not interact with each other, however both groups interact with Hershel(although Lee meets him before Rick, main character of comics, does). Michonne is a character who became significant in comics for quite some time. I suggest reading it,just for fun.

No, she's not. She's the "black chick" from the Comics. Granted, at least the personality of Michonne is similiar in both Comic and TV (as much as I have seen, I haven't watched much of the TV Series), but given how different the TV Show and the original Comics are, they still are two different characters. Just look at how different Comic Rick is from TV Rick.

Michonne is a principle character in TWD. She is introduced fairly early on in the comics and is introduced in the third series of the TV show - although this game series is focused on the Michonne from the comics who is quite different in character/her interactions with the other survivors. I won't go into all the details, but at this point in the comics' story Michonne has lost a lot of people who were close to her (her two daughters & her husband when the outbreak started, as well as her two post-apocalyptic boyfriends - Tyreese and Morgan). She is a major member of Alexandria - a walled community led by the comics' protagonist Rick Grimes - who have just won a costly war against a rival group known as The Saviours, who basically are a group of roaming mercenaries who extort other community's supplies, food, weapons etc in return for 'protection'. They're basically not very nice and are quite sadistic. After the war Michonne feels guilty that she should live in peace and happiness after all the terrible things she's had to do to survive, and because so many people who she loves have not made it (she blames herself for her daughters' deaths for instance). She decides to leave Rick, her group and Alexandria behind as she doesn't feel she is worthy of it - and that's where this game picks up! Hope that all makes sense - it does start quite a significant way through the TWD story :)

In the TV show she wields a much nicer sword, not a machete but instead a katana. Not sure why they changed it to the machete because we all know the katana is much, much cooler.

Over all I thought they did a good job with her character though, with the guilt of leaving her kids behind playing into her story, very well done and I think that part of the story is going to play a very BIG part in this mini series.

Yeah except last episode Michonne and Rick ended up in bed together and it looked like she was back with the group to me.

This has been pointed in several other threads. She leaves her katana with another character from the comics prior to the time skip.

Yeah because that's the TV show which is an entirely different and seperate canon which is mentioned in this thread.
