The Walking Dead: Michonne has nothing to do with the game Story. The game story is just:
The Walking Dead Season: 1 -> The Walking Dead: Season 2 -> The Walking Dead: A New Frontier -> The Walking Dead: The final Season
it doesn't matter whether you play the other parts first or Michonne :)

This is like a standalone game, apart from the main series. And it's really short, I completed it last night and took me 3 hours and a half.
It adds to Michonne's backstory during the comic book. There is a time gap between two issues, we find that she left in a boat to do something and well, this game seems to cover what happened during her journey. Oh, and it connects nicely to what happens in the comics, soon after that.

Doesn't matter. TWD: Michonne is not connected with the other TWD games.
