Please do not clutter up this forum by dumping known problems in new discussions!

I've ceased my support of this thread, as most problems nowadays don't have a known fix. However I'll stay subscribed and will help if possible.

(Please be aware that I'm doing/did this purely voluntarily. I'm not an employee of Paradox Interactive, just a volunteer moderator.)

This had fixed most crashes in previous versions of the game, however, some crashes nowadays don't have any known fixes or workarounds.

Regarding troubles with multiplayer, such as black screens or stuck loading bars

Pointing on something and getting NOT FOUND:87907 (random number)

There's no solution, it's a localisation problem and won't be fixed since Magicka doesn't have any dev team working on it anymore. A community made mod could fix this though.

Windows 10 issue - Background process
Set magicka.exe to run in Windows XP SP3 compatibility mode. You can find this option by rightclicking magicka.exe. Open the properties, then Compatibility tab. Tick "Run this program in compatibility mode for Windows XP SP3" and press OK. This prevents the program from running as a background application. There is an error message at startup, but just press continue and it should be fine.

Dungeons and Daemons: stuck in the library / can't move
If you go a little further, there's a checkpoint. Activate it and then die. You and your friend (who couldn't move) will respawn at the entrance of the library and everyone should be able to move.
This is just a workaround and obviously not a good option if you're trying to get the no-dying achievement.

This is a rather common problem. It's related to the graphics card, but I don't know which ones are affected. Nvidia cards also come with the nvidia control panel. You could try this:
Nvidia Panel -> Manage 3D settings -> Global Settings tab -> Change "Preferred Graphics Processor" from Auto-Select to High Performance NVIDIA.
If this doesn't work, you can catapult yourself over the fence on the right of the chapel by placing a shield and then casting WQ(QQQ) beam.


this options for laptop, but i have desktop(PC). and ~3 weeks ago all worked in coop.

That's a nice amount of Magicka play time you have there.
Could you provide more details? Like the dxdiag, or if you have switched to Windows 10 recently. Anything that could be relevant.

All right, I'm having the same problems at NSq1. The game starts, sometimes the melody starts, and after a few seconds the game just crashes.Tried all the depenedencies stuff, re-installing, etc. ... Maybe I just won't buy from these developers again ... which is a pity because it seems like this game is pretty neat.

Please post your Dxdiag and error report txt file/windows error message.
Also, Magicka was Arrowhead's very first game; their latest games, Gauntlet and especially Helldivers have been pretty good.

He means me :P I thrown in a towel myself, can't get this game to run on fresh windows 10x64 install (no problems with 8.1 > magicka installed and running > then upgraded OS).

Hi! So, I tried to start the game and it always crash. In the window with the crash reason there is
"Magicka.exe - Application Error
The application created an exception that can not be processed
process ID=0x4dd8 (19928). thread ID=0x4ddc (20288)"
And the ID of process/thread is always different when you start a game again. I've tried the main way to fix any problems (install a dotnetfx35.exe etc.), but it didn't help :c
I hope you'll find a way to fix this problem and thank you in advance C:
Oh, and if you didn't understand some of the russian words in dxdiag, just ask me, and sorry for that :x

windows key + r
type in appwiz.cpl
click "Turn Windows features on or off"
In the list untick every .NET Framework version that's not 3.5.1
