This has been my issue all day.
I made a video on what it does if the above txt file doesn't help.
And like he said, it's only Chapter 2. I can play Chapter 1 just fine.

@EmperorNeko63 My girlfriend has the same exact problem, crash to desktop the moment it tries to load anything beyond Chapter 2. Can I ask what CPU you are using Neko?

I just wanted to tell you that since you have the same problem, you should keep an eye on the "Pinned: Problems & Solution" Thread as I've posted a pretty detailed post about the/our problem. If I get lucky and get provided with a fix, you might want to be there to catch on how to fix the problem! If I am to get so lucky.

Yeah, I'm not sure how to fix it, but I'm getting a similar problem. I've played chapter 1, but if I try and play chapter 2, the game crashes. However, I get no error messages, it doesn't freeze or anything. It literally just shuts down the program, as if the play button for chapter 2 is actually tied to the quit game button.

I'm having the same problem. I can play chapter 1 just fine, but when I try to load up chapter 2 the whole game just quits and exits. No error message.

hey guys, try this, worked for me, i hope you can solve your problem

The reason you guys can't play any further is because of your On-board intregraded graphics card.. "Intel(R) HD Graphics" It is not strong enough to actually run the game so some part of the engine crashes when loading the next stages. There is no actual solution on how to fix it, besides optimalizatoin from the Magicka creators.

However, depending on the generation of your CPU, you might have a update for your Intregrated graphics adaptor, you can acces this by going "Start" -> Right Click "Computer" -> Manage -> "Device Manager" -> "Display Adapters" -> Right click "Intel(R) HD Graphics" -> "Update Driver Software" -> "Search Automatically for updated driver" -> Pray to god that you have an update. If you don't have "Intel(R) HD Graphics" under "Display Adaptors" Then right click whatever it is you have there and try to update that.

Updating your drivers are the only way you can fix the Magicka crash to desktop issue when loading any chapter past 1, so if you don't have an update then you're doomed until someome finds a solution.

Alternatively you can 'Force' an update by downloading latest driver from intel's site and manually install it, but I don't recomend it as it CAN serverly ♥♥♥♥ up your computer.

Is this a new problem, or this is happening since the release of the game? Because if it it the 2nd option, i don't even wait for a fix from devs. (i got this problem too, though i use a PC, not a laptop, so no integrated graphic card)

I have Catalyst Control Center (for my Radeon). Open CCC > Power supply > switched graphic adapters and get High Efficiency for Magicka. If it isn't present in the list, start once game before CCC. I don't know the similar program for NVidea
