How do I play with the friend?

My friend just bought Magicka, and we wanted to play together. I created a lobby, and wanted to invute my friend, but because in new Steam Overlay you can't invite a friend we couldn't play. How do I invite friend to lobby?

But that isn't working. It just invites someone into launching the game, but not into connecting to the lobby.

The game has to be launched first. Make sure the "Processing..." screen is gone as well. Then accept the invite.

One problem that I was having, was making "games that i play" PRIVATE on steam! This will cause it to not work! Make your game activity PUBLIC, or FRIENDS ONLY.

DEFINITIVE SOLUTION STEP BY STEP

There is 8 steps!

1) First click in Online Play
2) Second click in Host
3) Tird in the seeting window create a PUBLIC ROOM
4) Fourth press SHIFT + TAB
5) Fifth FIND your friends in the list
6) Sixth Invite them to the room!
7) Press SHIFT + TAB again
8) HAVE FUN!

Hey, I can't invite my friend when I'm hosting a game. Why is that? Also where do I find my IP adress?

google "my ip address" and it will give u it

Note that you need to create a public lobby for the join button to appear in the Steam interface
