White Screen of death!

Tried everything to make this game work, updated all drivers, running everything on low graphics mode, got a decent mid range laptop that looks like it more than meets minimum expectations. It runs the alpha version really well, does that suggest that I have got a chance for this game to load? Any other versions that I can run before the 2020 version updated one but later than the alpha version? My little boy really wants this game to work and I have tried everything!

Have you tried verifying file integrity? Sometimes a game file or two could be missing from the original download.

If that doesn't work, you could try uninstalling the game and then reinstalling. Maybe even uninstalling and reinstalling Steam.

You could try running as an administrator if you haven't tried already. Maybe also disabling any antivirus software and allowing access through your firewall.

I was thinking about buying this game but checking out all the complaints about various issues, specifically the "white screen", and no response from the devs - buyer beware. This game was greenlit back when Steam Greenlight was still a thing at the end of Dec 2015.

I looked at their website, feedandgrow.net, and their Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/feedandgrow/ and the latest activities are from 2015(website) and 2016 (FB page).

If the game works for you, great, but if not, you may want to consider a refund rather than wait for a fix.

If I'm wrong, please forgive me devs. Just pointing out some red flags. There's a lot of disappointed people wanting to play your game and it looks like development of this game ended a long time ago - in 2016 to be specific

Yeah, I just posted this.... I'm pretty disappointed in the devs and Steam for putting this up on the featured page in the Steam store. Development on this game appears to be dead and is still in early access after 5 years.

Hi, thanks for the ideas for fixing the game. I have found a version that works! I managed to download Version v0.7.7 and it loaded for me! I have turned all the graphics down and sure it is a little laggy but boy does it feel good to actually find a fix for this! I think that my idea of a mid range laptop is based on how much I spent on it and getting one with 8GB ram where in reality it is about graphics card capabilities and other such techy things I am only just starting to learn about.

My son is very happy but of course now he wants it to be faster and with all the mods that he sees YouTube stars playing with their high end spec gaming PCs! Better start saving. You guys were quicker than the developers in getting back to me (they didn't) so thanks. But in their defence they are just two brothers not a Rockstar operation, so I might have to cut them some slack.

Glad to see you got it working with the old version. FYI Turning of Wifi has also been known to work for some people.
Sadly it looks like the game has been abandoned by the devs. If you're looking for a similar experience, I'm working on a new game inspired by Feed and Grow: Fish.
