You dont understand much about children it seems..
They have controls that have a button to turn off and on for reasons like this. So that minors can play along with teens by turning gore , horror and nightmare fuel for toddlers and above 7yrs. So no you cant really have them learn that at the age of 6... not everyone wants to let their kids play games like most of us take in mind..
But yes, I think there is a option that disables gore? But I can't recall. (in my experience, the gore only appears for me in the beautiful settings q.q)
