Black screen on loading

I installed this game yesterday for my son. It was running well yesterday but the settings kept going back to default. That is not a huge problem. However this morning the game loads up and the screen is just black with the music playing. I have reinstalled the game twice. Deleted everything to do with the game. All driver are upto date. I cannot find a folder to allow me to manually change any display settings. I have verified the files and apart from 3 files that could not be verified all was fine.

Any ideas on resolving this would be good. My son has been desperate to play this game for months and was the first thing he asked me to install on his new laptop.

When it happened to me ijust had to reset the pc.Maybe is something more.Post the specs here please

Hello. I am experience the exact same issue. I can hear the music but the screen is black and nothing loads.

I am getting a black screen with music as well. Has anyone figured this out? Is it an issue with the game or something else? Everything on this laptop is up to date.

This started happing about a month ago for me and I have managed to fix the problem.

Right click on the game and go to Properties

Click on the Set Launch Options

And add –Window

Then launch the game. The window was small for me but was able to enlarge it. Once in game go to Options and set the resolution to what you want and check full screen. When you exit the game you can remove the “–Window” from the Launch Options and the game should be fine.

I was able to fix the issue, however, I ended up doing a full restore on the laptop, upgrading from and i3 to an i5 and adding in some ram. Everything worked just fine after with some lag, which was expected considering this laptop is around 7-8 years old. Thank you for the input!

I cannot believe how bad this game has been screwed up. I ran it once on another laptop and now it will never run again. Manually deleting all files, setting launch options to -Window or -autoconfig- does nothing. I have tried every advanced launch options and none of them do anything. Even if I go onto the other computer and set the video setting back to what the were, the game just changes them back on it's own. Playing this once on another computer has made it completely useless.

I hate this game so much! It finally ran in Window mode after launching steam in Administrator mode. Then after fixing the resolution it broke itself again with 10 minutes. Now the launch options won't work again and won't even work when I run Steam in Admin mode.

It kinda works for me, some bugs and stuff but it doesn't crash

for me it happens sometimes but i fixed it, do this: go into your steam games file and delete the feed and grow file then next uninstall feed and grow from steam not by trash can, then finally reinstall. it works for me
