How do I play as any fish??

I keep hearing and seeing people play as a squid or a goldfish, the harmless fish, how are people playing as those? I cant find a tutorial on how to have them as a playable fish anywhere. Please help!

Hello! I don't know about the little octopus but to play as any of the "harmless" fish all you have to do is open up the game and select multiplayer upon the initial menu that you see first. Then it ask if you want to list or host a server, select to host your own server, after that there will be a menu where you can select difficulty, spawn bots, game mode, and map. This is all on the left side of the screen. Maps are listed as Alpha = ocean, beta = river and swamp will be listed as swamp. Just click on the word itself to change the map. Next click start on the bottom right side. Now the game menu for fish select, settings and spectate will appear as normal. Look to the top left of the screen and there should be a "server settings". Click on it. Here you can use slide bars to change how many players, if any are joining you, bot predators and herbivores there are. For crazy fun MAX OUT THE BOTS! :D Also you can adjust experience rate which is how fast you grow. On the bottom left is what you want. Select allow herbivore then click apply on the bottom right side then click close on the top right side. Now you can play as Zebra, Gold, Blue and the other herbivore fish. Enjoy! :)

As far as I know, it's a now-hidden Server Setting you could enable in multiplayer mode. I believe at this time you'd have to go into the game's file and find the setting to enable or disable Boss Fish (The Great White) and 'herbivores' I believe is what they are called. Then you'd still have to host a server, even if you don't open it up to ther players

you need to be in multiplayer mode to play as smaller fish like goldfish and zibra fish
