Windows 11

So, I fear the day I am forced to go to windows 11, and I now have a laptop that runs it, however with windows 11 it seems that I cannot run the game, and I want to. So does anyone know a fix so that I can play SOTS on windows 11?

Update, thus far steam says that install is fine but launching says that files are missing

verify integrity of files

right click the game in your library
properties
installed files

and the bottom most option "verify integrity of files"

Already done, steam sees nothing wrong.
I'll certainly try again to make sure and otherwise I'll just download it again and see if that fixes it

either download again or install on another drive

So I checked myself and no files appear to actually be missing

Got, it well I fixed one thing got a new one, Error 0xc000007b
MSVCR100.dll or MSVCP100.dll might be bad or have some other issue

https://imgur.com/a/StXrTJj, this might help. Started with Missing file from game, reinstalled a few times and then missing MSVCR100.dll and MSVCP100.dll files. copy those in and that fixes that issue and get this. Error 0xc000007b

Problem solved, just needed to get some of the old redistributes for the Microsoft visuals

Steam needs to fix this. Open a ticket with them if you could please. I don't have Win11 but I may someday. If not Steam then Paradox. Maybe Steam will bug Paradox about it.

I overal will always miss Windows 7 and XP, ah they were just better. Windows 10 was manageable, Windows 11 is just the worst.

I doubt steam would do much for an old game like this however the fix is not to bad, all you really need to do is get the C++ Microsoft Visual redistributables from 2010 and add that. Just search Windows 11 in the SOTS discussion and you will find someone with a link and everything.

Yes, but Steam is charging you money for this. So it's their game. They should provide those files. The end user shouldn't be expected to jump through hoops to get a game to run. Not when you are paying money.
But Steam is probably not even aware of the problem. That's why a ticket needs to be opened.
