You can modify the starting settings to give yourself more starting money and planets than the rest of the AI. If you take it to the extreme that'll give you a giant advantage.

Also, if you set the difficulty setting for a player empire to easy, they get x1.5 economic and a x1.5 research advantage.

I understand, but is there a way to just cheat? Like infinite money, all tech researched in one turn, all that stuff.

if you're that desperate, find the file with the tech costs, open it in notepad & set them all to 100% chance & minimal cost for your race. Just make sure no AI player gets the same race. Could probably do the same for sections production costs.

And yeah, play on easy. If you can't comfortably stomp the galaxy on easy with all techs, it'll never be easy enough for you.

The SOTS wiki has guides for modding. http://wiki.swordofthestars.com/sots1/Tech_Tree_--_Modding

I din't find anything on the SOTS wiki about instantly researching tech. I only found how to make sure that you have the ability to research everything. What i need is instant research.

At a certain point you'll have to start trying to look at the files and mod things yourself. You're trying to play the game in a way that isn't intended, and as far as I'm aware no one has made a mod that does what you're looking for.

If you follow the instructions in the wiki it'll point you towards the files to modify. If you look there you should see examples of tech prereqs, chances, and costs, which you can modify.

You could also use cheatengine and find your cash and max it. if you then max out your research you can usaly research things rather quickly.

You can do that, but the speed you can research technologies is limited by your income - so you'll probably want to give yourself extra starting planets to help with that. You can use money to directly boost research, but doing that increases the chance of lab accidents so it doesn't really work to put all your money there.

Dont forget that the intrest (1%?) counts as income. and at the max money (2000m i do belive) you get alot more per turn than a couple of planets.

But then again, if you are not carefull you can still loose if you run with low numbers of planets.

if you need even more help than that i could suggest using teams and have 2-3 AI on your team. and if you want a realy bonkers game you can donate all your money to the AI.
