Floor traps, any way to avoid them?

I'm really enjoying this game so far but is there any way to disable or sneak past spike traps? If not this has to be the stupidest design choice.

Most of the time you must have enough health to get through spike traps. (I don't remember, but there might be a few specific ones which can be disabled.)

Those spikes do massive damage to my gear.

Gear can be repaired. Just don't go over the traps over and over again and you'll be fine. If you take your time and do everything, the game can become downright easy. You can have more than enough money and equipment.
