Special level: Spider Farm (any secret)?

At Chapter 3 there is special level "Spider Farm" with SpiderBot (or Caretaker) that locked in the room with purple door (walls can't be destroed).

Also you can see 2 "Spider Farms" on the wall that can't be destroed and some room at the left side.

I destroed everything with Rocket Launcher, but didn't find any way to save (get out) big robot.

There is another purple door and button that can open it (only this door). So I tried first to destroy this door and then press button (I thought that the button will open the one remaining door at robot room). But it didn't worked.

By chance one day big robot noticed me (and his lifilene HD apper) but in next secont he lost me. I could not repeat it again.

How do you think? Is there any secret?

Somebody much smarter and better-playing than me should do a Steam Game Guide strictly devoted to all the Side Rooms.

You've inspired me to replay that chapter, and I'll see if I can get into that room and help figure something out. Which is good, because Chapter 4 absolutely has me at my wit's end. :p

Anyway, I suppose, there is nothing to unlock in this level (I get all weapons/perks at the moment). May be some easter egg.

Just tried to get into those now, no Idea how to open that Purple door...

I suspect the robot is there only for the show, however, I also kind of remember that there was another variation of that level later. Maybe it is some kind of puzzle that would need two runs etc?

I think you just stumbled on a room where spiders are kept and repaired before being sent elsewhere with those chutes you see on the walls.

Many secret rooms just add some flavor to the universe or make interesting challenges

I used enhancement that instantly kill all robotic enemy, but it didn't killed big spider, but hurt him critically. Then robot start to explode (infinity) and hurt me, but he didn't died.
