Controller support is wack

Am I doing something wrong with my controller settings? for reference, I am using a mac, and i've had issue with controller support with another game, but by turning off steam support; it fixed it. I am lost and was trying to fix it for almost 20 mins. Any help would be appreciated, thanks!
