Buying instruments
How can I determine which instruments I can buy and which I can't? I assumed if they were listed I'd be able to buy them but that doesn't seem to be the case. It says I don't know how to play it. Yet I never learned how to play guitar and was able to pick one up right away? Do I have to wait until I move out and read a book to play Violin?

You have to level up, and every 2 levels you get skill points and you use those to unlock string/brass + groovebox/drums

Apparently we're only able to play piano, guitar, or sing at the beginning
