Whats with subs in music?
So I was playing the game channel and I was getting thousands of subs pretty much before I even left my house. Now I go over to Music which I am still in the hundreds of thousands of views but only have 3k subs. Subs seem a bit off in music or am I just doing something wrong?

And its not like I can just make 5* songs to get subs because I just released a song and it came back with you don't have enough viewers. Also all released songs are like 3 star at BEST.

I guess it just takes more time.
For instance i have 10x more views than subs, so...

It does seem kinda broken because on my Gamer file I have 350k views and 47k subs.
on my Music file I have 317k Views and 11k subs right now.
Our game design team is taking feedback from this forum in order to balance the Music Channel, as we did with the gaming channel.

Remember this is an Early Access game and your input is taken into account!

Alright please close this thread and if Possible delete it. I have as you have seen posted a full review on what is going on with the music compared to the gaming channel here http://steamcommunity.com/app/428690/discussions/0/305509857570335130/

I think it's that the music channel has more of a focus around the idea of having to fit the puzzle pieces together to make it work (AKA pick the right instruments for the right genre)

The thing is I have. I would go in pick the perfect instrument that would have people saying this is perfect for it. I would play on a 5 star Song and get 4 Thumbs up because 5 is straight impossible.

At level 11 this would net me max 16k Views and 1k subs.
Go into the Gaming version just half ass it on like your 5th video your level 6 and I get 58k Views and like 4k Subs. From a 3 star game with 3 thumbs up.

It was way too easy to spit out videos on the gaming channel. And it was always easy to pick trending, 5-star games.

We went a bit overboard with the difficulty in the music channel maybe... but we're not that far from reality, are we? it's much easier to make a living as a gaming youtuber than a musician one :P

We're looking into balancing this a bit, though. Don't panic... yet!

I also noticed that gaming channel was super easy to play on, but music channel is a bit too hard. Considering the fact that much more money is needed for instruments and songs, plus you're VERY limited with views count for each of your songs, together with being super hard to gain subs or money, this is getting really difficult.

I mean, it's not impossible, but enjoyable experience I had with the gaming channel turned into a massive grind and barely making it possible to play on music channel. Perhaps I'm doing something wrong, but even with my "cheat sheet" of genres-instruments and doing only 4+ (while avoiding repeating what has been already done) I struggle much with being able to pay for my rent.

I don't consider myself casual, and I also think that gaming channel was a bit too easy, but music channel is not only harder, it's actually a bit too hard. Maybe only a little help would balance things out. It definitely shouldn't be as easy as gaming channel, but it shouldn't be as hard as now either, especially for less experienced players.

I concur. Our game design team are looking into it but it's not easy balancing a game with this many variables.

Patience, we're on it.

There might be something wrong in your save file. Let us take a look at it.

Would you please send a mail to youtuberslife@uplayonline.com with the following content?
  • Brief description of the issue and how to reproduce it. Be as accurate as possible.
  • Link this thread.
  • Your save game file. You can find the *.yls here: [windows documents folder]\U-Play online\Youtubers life\Saves
We'll take a look and see if we can solve the issue.

Thank you.
