Cooking special events - character just... doesn't go

I'm in the mid-level place with two collaborators, where I have to start working my way up a network. I've found the notice board, I've said yes to cooking events, the date comes, and... nothing shows up. Is there something I'm supposed to do in addition to confirming for the event, in order to have my character get a chance to leave the house? I have her standing around for a day or so beforehand, just to make sure she's not already involved in some other activity, but the event just changes to "now" for a while before disappearing. (I haven't gotten any grumpy "we hate you for flaking on us" notices either, it's just like the whole thing didn't register.)

Guest Chef event bugged

So I had 2 Guest chef events on January 30. It's Feb 1st now, but nothing pop up etc. They don't count as failed, it's stuck.

So there's one more step before you can attend a cooking event which requires you to, after you confirm the attendance on the board, go to the mobile, calendar and click on the cooking event that you'll see there. A new screen will appear where you'll have to choose between foods and place.
