"git gud" applies to any genre ;-)
If you buy a puzzle-game and get beaten by the puzzles It's not the devs fault, unlees you got beaten by a bug or the riddles are unlogical. Both is not the case here.
Maybe it's just the wrong genre for you, which is not a bad thing.
I suck in PvP games, for example. But I don't blame the devs for that.
It's just not my cup of tea.
If you buy something advertised as a Myst-like game and fail multiple times at platforming elements, that does not mean you are bad at puzzles, you know...
I haven't bought it yet exactly because of these mixed signals from the people who already tried it. If this is not a puzzle game, I don't really want to bother myself with it.
How about buying and trying it out by yourself then instead of making your opinion by people tending to complain about everything in their lifes?
Read professional reviews, and even steam reviews are very positive about the game.
What platforming problems are you refering to? Give an example please.
I bought the game and it's everything but hard. It's just a walking simulator.
Those riddles aren't really that hard. if you use just a minimum of your brain.
If you really fail at them then because of unawarness and superficiality.
That's clearly a you problem then.
I was done with trusting the so called "professional" reviews long ago and am not particularly inclined into sinking a few hours into a game just to stumble upon some annoying platformer stuff right after the two hour testing period is over.
Again, hard riddles are not something I don't want to run into, it's the action sequences I'm uncomfortable with, so it would be great to know if there are any, and if not - what's the reason behind this thread in the first place.
Not because they're hard to beat (they aren't) but they prevent from exploring that particular area.
But those sequences are relatively rare and not even close to be comparable to similar events of action games like DBH or Tomb Raider
It's definetely not like you're playing something like a Quantic Dreams title, where you die over and over till you finally figured out how to press the right buttons in time.
I can remember 2 quicktime events in the entire game.
In the first event you had to press one single key in time, and the other one required two. That's it. Not frustrating at all.
I wouldn't call that platformer action ^^
Same applies to the time sensitive events.
Yes, there are some countdowns, but they are very generous, and if you really die because of a lack of oxygen, you immediately know what you did wrong and the next time will be a successful try.
That's why they also need to be considered as being riddles in this game.
You don't need be quick or having fast reflexions in order to beat them, just some forsight.
The game remains slow paced and relaxing the entire game, even during those rare "action events".
You just need to open your eyes and the path to follow is clear during those events.
See, I'm 45 years old now and at my age you are getting very slow reactions in games.
Therefore I detest PvP shooters and fast paced action games that use countdowns and QT events all the time
I can assure you Deliver Us the moon is none of these games.
Then you might have relied on the wrong magazins.
I'm not talking about youtubers advertising their sponsored stuff or getting paid for playing a specific game. I don't trust them either.
I'm talking about reputable game mags that already started their work during the 80s or 90s.
At least in my country they always used to be both objective and critical.
Go for them if you want honest, professional rewiews, not for influencers.
Sounds like this thing could be worth a try after all, but the discount is gone already... Will have to wait until the next time.
It's been a while since the last time I bought a gaming related magazine. It just felt like I'm a bit too old for that kind of thing now, but maybe it's worth a try after all...
It could be an interesting idea, especially considering that back then there barely was a need for a game mag in the first place with there being only a handful of games available anyway. These days it's just too hard to keep up with all of them, while only a few can pique my interest.
OP ? Youre kidding?
Pretty fun game. Actually thinking about booting it up again as my old PC was dying whenever I finished it (the fan was going) and though I could beat the game there was way too much stuttering and crashing that was all on my end.
