We have not included a first/third person toggle to the version of the game that will release October 10.
Instead it has remained as before. The game has pre-determined switches between the two perspectives.
Hey Shaggy!
My answer is much the same. Instead of switching views yourself, there are pre-designed, automatic toggles between 3rd/1st person when we saw it benefit the experience.
Although I respect it, I do not really understand it. It feels so immersive when you float around in first person, and suddenly you get thrown out of this and have a third person ... the game could have been excellent, but with this dubious decision its just good.
In the words of the second-wisest man on Earth,
Seriously, I don't know about you, but in real life I don't have humongous warts under my eyes that look and move like myself, and certainly none that block at least a fifth of my field of vision. (Especially when all it does is showcase the somewhat stompy character animation and the awfully goopy spool-up of movement transition animations.) And as you can very well see from the mere existence of this thread, let alone its posts by other players, that is not just my experience. I have to wonder how you expect to operate profitably as a game studio when the notion behind your design choices is "You get what WE like, not what YOU like" …
I also automatically toggled to "not-buying" mode. Sorry.
A 1st/3rd-toggle-feature should be standard in every 3rd person game. Game makers would sell a lot more games. Of course, ego perspective would be better in general.
I think that's a real shame, because the game itself would be my thing. But 3rd person doesn't work for me at all.
Conclusion: No 1st - no buy!
