I can't beat the final alignment
Folks, I'm a 61 year old dude, who is new to gaming, and for the life of me I CANNOT beat the final level. I see that there was supposed to be a patch to make it more forgiving. How to I check to see if the patch is loaded. Because if it is, I still can't beat it. I already busted my one mouse in frustration. What the heck can I do.

Don't bust your mouse, it's not its fault :)
Apart from that, you can see a video about it, maybe it will help you

Hey Guitartoys2!

I am sorry to see the alignment sequence is still very difficult. If your game is updated to the latest version (which Steam should do for you automatically) you will have been playing our patched version.

I remembered this older thread with some very helpful tips, I hope they can help you to get through this part!

I finally got it beat. Just really frustrating. It just seems stupid to make something so hard for no purpose other than to be difficult. Like I said, new to gaming. I loved the puzzle aspect of the game, but I'm just not savvy enough with the keyboard yet.

I hear ya; i'm old and slow to with all these youngsters out there to compete with. :steammocking:
Just bought the game so hopefully it will be fun. Cheers

I too am having real difficulty aligning the MPT at the end. I keep trying but it doesn't look hopeful.

Glad you beat it eventually. Have you considered a controller? I played the game using an Xbox One controller and while it was still tricky I managed the last challenge on the first try (with about 5 seconds to spare!). Most PC players aren't keen on anything but mouse/keyboard but honestly sometimes I find a controller just makes things a little more forgiving.

The trick is to (a) move as quickly as possible to the tower (I was using the keyboard, so just hold down W and D straight away to start moving up and right). and then (b) get the target over the top of the tower and keep it there. Once you do you'll hear a beeping and see a circular bar start to fill up. If you keep it on target then the beeping will get more rapid and the bar will fill more, but then you'll be pulled off every few seconds as you lose focus - at that point immediately pull the cursor back to the right spot (I think it usually pulls you more out of alignment than you were, so if you were a little to the right of perfect before then losing focus will pull you even more to the right). It took me three goes to get it but I got there eventually!

(I'd just finished Stardew Valley and I think doing the fishing on that helped me a lot here :P )

This is the kind of problem that I hate. It's all about reflexes with key pressing. Apart from in this case it doesn't help pressing the right button. The sights go away despite you telling it otherwise.
So you need to do exactly the same thing countless times and can even get stuck so you can't finish the game

I gave up. Not coordinated enough.

After about 10 tries, I adjusted my horizontal/vertical controller sensitivity down to 1 from 5 and that seemed to help me hold it in place a little bit although I had a harder time controlling walking to the MPT alignment desk. I was finally able to complete the level.

Ya, that last alignment took me a moment to understand. Previous alignments just required to target the peam receiver and then lock the transmitter.
The last one needs constant re-alignments, made harder by the injuries the player character got from the reactor blast in the area before.

Would be great if the timer had more 10 seconds.....

I must admit the fact that the timed sequences are so unforgiving is the main reason I chose not to leave a review. It's good enough for me not to leave a negative one, but damned if the timed spots didn't infuriate me. The monorail one especially. I don't mind timed sequences, but you normally get more notice about what you need to press before you actually need to press it, and this game just doesn't do that. In a way it is realistic I guess, but in another way it's not because whilst you, the player don't know, it is actually something that the character you are playing as would know. It kind of debunks it's own point in that sense and just ends up annoying. I am just glad that the timed sections were few and far between.

Yeah, that last mini game pretty much ruined the whole game for me. It took me like 20 tries and I had to switch from my controller to a gamming keyboard and mouse with adjustable sensitivity. Not really what I want in a puzzler. Turned an otherwise good game into a horrible experience.
