This thread serves as a little FAQ and hub for ongoing issues that we are aware of or, identified by you!

23/10/16: 1.2.3 Soft Patch To address freeze's & crashes.

Known Issues

22/10/2016: Some players are reporting crashes & freezes when collecting items in the game or laoding a world. 24/10/16 Soft Patch Releassed (1.2.3)

25/7/16 Some of you have reported that tablets you have collected re-appear but vansih when you get close to them. Fixed in 1.1.5

20/06/2016: Some people are reporting crashes and the inability to select "Start game". We are aware and working to resolve this, we really appreciate your help and patience!

25/04/2016: HTC Vive Deadzone fix deployed to address grappling hooks randomly firing. (1.0.2.1)

19/02/16: HTC Vive / Vive Pre users are reporting that hooks will not grapple to trees but are able to attach to some areas with stone. Fixed in 0.9.7 Update.

10/01/16: A patch for Linux and SteamVR / HTC Vive has been releassed. If you are still experiencing difficulty running the game, please post in the technical support subforum.

29/8/2017: Oculus Touch controllers appearing as Vive wands. Also Oculus rift is not launching natively with the Steam Version of the game. Using touch controllers in this mode would require "Click to move".

Before You Start

- Please run the Oculus Compatibility Tool [ocul.us] to check your system specs.

- To change your resolution and / or resolve low FPS, hold the ALT key while launching. (Select V-Sync to correct low FPS.)

- You can enable smooth looking with a controller in the pause menu under: Options -> VR Options -> Comfort Turning [DISABLE].

- Pressing F5 ingame will place a targeting reticule on your screen. Surfaces which can be grappled will make the reticule glow.

Keyboard & Mouse

[LEFT MOUSE BUTTON] : Fires Left Grappling Hook
[RIGHT MOUSE BUTTON] : Fires Right Grappling Hook
[MIDDLE MOUSE BUTTON] : Respawn To Last Checkpoint

[W] / [UP] : Move Forwards
[A] / [DOWN] : Move Backwards
[S] / [LEFT] : Strafe Left
[D] / [RIGHT] : Strafe Right
[SPACE] / [RIGHT CTRL] : Jump ( You can jump off walls to perform wall jumps )

Guys, thanks a ton for making Windlands; it is a magnificent game! If there's one thing I would ask for, it is more save points! The fact that I have to redo nearly 50 jumps just to get back to a point I continually fail (because it is legitimately difficult) is ridiculous! I'm specifically referring to the area between the last save point and the highest area of the map where you must jump from wooden beam to wooden beam and wall jump off of multiple floating pieces of stone. I can get to the last green platform, but there really needs to be a save point on that platform! Thanks again!

EDIT: Okay, my previous comment was based on gameplay on my monitor (3D Vision doesn't work with this game, so there was no perceivable depth). Now that I have played Windlands on my Oculus Rift, I can honestly say it is absolutely amazing. I have a far stronger desire to push myself more to figure out how to progress further, judging distances is so much easier, controlling direction and motion is far more natural, etc, etc. Simply put, VR makes this game awesome in the same way 3D Vision makes the Arkham series (minus Knight) awesome! Love it!

Haha, to this day that place still gives new players problems! Ok a little tip I would just like to say is be comfortable and look around for new ways to get to places, as a seasoned windlands player I can honestly say that is one of the most looked forward crystals to get whenever I'm doing a speedrun. It honestly isn't as hard as you would think and I feel like the checkpoints are very well given up there in the jungle, not saying in other worlds they aren't as free and giving with them. The most polished world has to be the first one and that's just because they got so much time to spend on that comparatively.

To answer most problems people have in certain areas is look for a different solution, there are many places in the game where it may look challenging. Go explore and find something amazing, getting a chance to see someone's new perspective is always awesome and I feel like the community could do with a lot more people running around having fun :3. I've met some cool people here and it sure feels like I'm gonna be staying.

Hi, Im having technical difficultiues with the game. I load the game, and can select everything except Start Game. I can go through all the settings and mess with them, i just cant start the actual game. Help me :C

Still no luck :( it would be great if I could friend you on steam and just live stream it when you are available and chat for a bit about. I love your game, just got my HTC Vive and its so dissapointing to not try it out :C

Hey guys! So I just bought the game 2 days ago, and I was having a great time on the first launch, but after I closed the game, I can't get past the main menu! I have 2 posts in the tech support forum, but nobody has replied and nothing I have tried has worked. Would really love it if you guys could help.

I just realized that I am having the exact same problem as Team Sneak. I really would love to get back into the game and you guys are my last hope.

It may be worth backing up your save game and trying fresh to see if you have a save issue, let us know if this works, I'm saying this because the next screen lists your saves. Would be great to zip the saves and send them to [e-mail] and we can investigate.

#1: I have tried reinstalling, but I'm not sure if the save files were left behind. #2: What is the path for said save files? I will send them as soon as possible.

love the game got to play it for 80 min and wont start again. oops crash pops up whole time. iw wish for the price i payd for a game that id get to play it :(

Im really sorry to hear this.

Would it be possible to ontain the crash logs from you. These will be in a dated folder in teh games directory. If you could zip them & send to luke(At symbol)psytecgames.com that would be really appriciated.

We are aware a number of players are expiricing issue and are working to located the root casue of this.
