Index Controller config

using index controllers and all i want is to keep the functionality of the touchpad for increasing/reducing rope length without having it also change my camera.

any idea how to do this?

currently, likely because of my big fingers, whenever i press the touchpad to give or take rope, my view moves left or right (where ever my finger is touching the pad first).

i like using the joystick for movement and camera work, so if i can leave that functionality to them, i'm golden
