how to make a transparent background

Hi, I was drawing a character, I wanted to make the background transparent for using the character for my own purposes, but I did not know how to do it, how to make the background transparent

To get a transparent background, go to the Document Tab (you can find it under the View menu), and click the "Transparent" box. I would also suggest turning off glow (click the little sun icon at the top-right of the screen) or you'll get dark halos around your art.
