Crossplay with Friends

A friend has this game on his quest 2. I will buy it via steam, can i invite him without problems? Or is there only a crossplay support in random matches with random players?

You can play together using the private match option. It's very simple to use, you both select the same match type (Versus or Co-op) and the same 3 digit number and hit the 'Go' button and you will be connected. This option works between any platforms.

Yes, this works. But I was unable to add the other as friend. I only saw that options once and then it was grey. Are friends not cross platform?

Friends are not cross platform. You could only see friends from your platform. But you can still play with a friend from a different platform using the private match option as mentioned above.
