Running out of Xethane
How do you guys handle fuel production?, Im trying to set up fuel generator factories close to Xethane sources, but they end up draining all of it in just a couple of days, the source regeneration is nowhere near fast enough, and I end up wasting a lot of it if I expand to quickly and dont store enough of it in tanks (although stored fuel doesnt last too long either).
Is constantly deleting and moving fuel generators to different sources part of the game or am I missing something that could give me a more stable source of fuel?

Normally a sinkhole or other things should provide enough to keep a turbine or two running forever. If you build too much turbines, they will suck up faster than the source is getting replentished, though.

Hello,
just make the power layout of MissedFrizzle in the guides of Steam in a factory or two ..
that cost 92 mineraux only !!
After You may used this one for the citizens to win more money , 105 mineraux if i well remember... so it is only for the early game .. think one thing that only the factory where you make the 2 and 3 levels of mineraux and isotopes are useful for the whole game ..
So theses 2 layout must be demolished after a while ..
After you bought the turbine power , just put in near the more number of crevasses of Xethane and your be quiet for a time ..
I hope ithat's may hep you cos english is not my native language..^^

Ok, maybe I am draining too much and I should spread generators a bit more...
Are turbines more efficient in Xethane consumption than factories?

Efficiency on them all depends on the intake of gas nearby, really. If you place them near a saturated area that has enough nearby production like sinkholes to keep it topped off, you can get enough gas output on them to run almost 3 power plants (or a normal and a linked, obv).

If you want to tinker with it as well, you CAN also use fans to blow xethane out of your non-needed areas toward your generators, but at the moment they're fairly labor/power-inefficient for such. I use at max one to keep xethane cleared over my habitat area if I have to put my smokestacks even remotely close to it, since it helps on pollution as well.

Remember that fuel turbines have a radius of two tiles around them. For me, it seems that one fully upgraded double turbine sucks up the output of about 4-5 crevice/sinkhole tiles, so I try to space them out. Fuel production is pretty steady as long as their pull tiles aren't overlapping.

How do you survive on a map without chasm? Tried a map without chasm, hoped for some sinkholes, but there is nothing. Will the Xethane replenished from outside the map? At the moment 3/4 of the map got only 30% Xethane.

The other 1/4 of the map are nearly depleted, some sectors are at 8%, some at 15%.

Sounds like Turbines are a lot more efficient then, I was having trouble early game, trying to generate fuel only with factories stuffed with fuel generators was draining the source too fast.
I found a U crevice and put a factory there, as soon as I filled the floor with fuel generators, gas started depleting real fast and lasted only a week or two.

Ill try to spread them a bit more and go straight into turbines as soon as I can then.

Thanks!
