You go and say stuff like "and only sweep in once they see the product is viable".
And then comes facts showing that it's not quite like that. They support from every part of development.
Unfortunately, Epic is not capable of traveling back in time and give out money before they had it and, as such, games that are now further along the development timeline can only be supported on the tail end.
Again, there's a ton of ♥♥♥♥ to call them out on, this feels like barking at the wrong tree.
But you've finally convinced me that you're nothing but a troll, so I will no longer reply to any of your posts.
Do explain to me how it is goalpost moving. You stated, "Epic only comes in for reaping the benefits". These facts say that's not true. So now what?
But do go ahead, dismiss what you can't dispute by claiming troll/goal post mover/whatever.
Since you seem incapable of understanding:
- Epic only buys games nearing completion
- Your response to that is the new epic program to fund game development
- This program has so far not produced a single game as it has existed for only 2 weeks now.
- There fore it has literally zero impact and doesn't refute the fact that epic is buing games they haven't funded and where all the risk were borne by someone else.
- and if epic really wanted to support the devs, they could give them money with no exlusivity.
So you shifted the goalposts by claiming that the potential of future funding is the same as having funded development in the past, which are two very different things and which is exactly the reason people are so agitated.
If you are so far up your own ass that you can't discern the difference, either reflect on that or shut up, because you are either a troll or a fool.
Direct quote from you "[Epic] only sweep in once they see the product is viable".
After reviewing what even you have just said, do you agree with that quote?
If you do, I don't know what else to tell you. Just keep doing your own thing.
Not by my standards. I wanted more buildings, more weapons, more things you can do. But it would be impossible with our current team size and budget.
So to restate, not all games are almost done. Some are, not but all.
Yes. I am giving them room to change that in the future, but all that's visible is this so far.
And as such I consider it valid critcism.
No offence, but you have a functional engine, are one of the top wished for games on steam, have playable demos, that apparently garner great feedback, and have a working development plan, knowing what you can achieve. Let's also not forget that BYG has show itself capable of making games before.
You might not be complete and you might want to do much more (frankly, which game developer doesn't) but even to me it looks like you're on the last laps and in a good position. And I'm sure epic took a good look to determine that impression is true.
I'm not saying the money isn't a huge help and that it wont allow you to do more and add more to the game, but by my impression you have a very viable product with a sizable market potential.
And well. with regard to other companies, the situation is the same. I do not consider any game so far announced to be epic exclusive to bear significant risks of failing to deliver. If you knwo more I'd be interested if you'd share some insights.
