Is the free FNaF World Steam link safe? (Will I get in trouble for using it)

The install link is literally just the games data base ID on the steam store, it is completely safe as long as you are talking about this one : steam://install/427920, if the link in question is not that one then don't. But it will indeed just give you the game for free. Can't blame ya for being cautious though~ Stay safe out there.

The game is set to free for when it comes back again eventually, you should be fine sharing it with friends who don't have the game and wanted it. Its just free now.

It's not "moderator approved". It's as I said: I can't imagine you getting into trouble.

My view is if there really was an issue with you downloading the files from the Steam content servers via this method it would be locked down and those without the game subscription on their account would be refused the download.

However, I'm not Valve. That's just my view on it.

I think you can download any Steam game like this (used to be able to at least. Can't check right now as not at home) but 99.9% of games woukd fail to launch if you don't have the subscription on your account.
