Save files don't carry over between computers
Wow, this game. Thought about continuing my save on my laptop when I'm out but woops, all are new game despite saving successfully on my home PC.

I guess it really does deserve the hate it gets.

That's just...how did you think it would carry over the data? Two different systems; two different hard drives.

It's a saved game file, not an email account.

Are you new to Steam? Carrying over of save data is exactly what the Steam Cloud is for. Like, come the ♥♥♥♥ on, might as well release the game on GOG if it's not even gonna take advantage of that.

Also, there's no local save file saved in the game folder unlike other games, so there's really no way of carrying over the save data (unless it's by moving the .exe; the only file in the folder; to the laptop. Can anyone try it?)

So copy the saves over manually like we did back in my day when the only clouds were the ones in the sky, I doubt the save files for this game are too big to fit onto an external hard drive or USB stick, heck if you don't have any form of external storage just stick them in a zip file and e-mail it to yourself.

There is no saves, genius, there is nothing to copy aside from the .exe.

That's because you're not looking in the right place. Google FNaF World save location, it's not hard to find.

It seems you haven't googled it yourself, because nothing came up but Fnaf 1's save file location.

And honestly, if the game has to save on AppData\Roaming and not use Steam Cloud despite being made in 2016, it shouldn't be on Steam at all.

open up your start menu, search %appdata%, go to Roaming, open the folder labeled MMF Applications, it's the one labeled "fnafw" followed by the number of your save file. also, this game doesn't use Steam Cloud. a lot of games don't. but keep this in mind. if you take your copy of Batman: Arkham Asylum to your friend's house and put it in their PS3, will the save file from your PS3 be avaliable? no. no they won't because it's a different hard drive. you'd have to copy them manually there, too. congratulations on picking one of the dumbest reasons to hate a game that i've ever heard.

As a matter of fact, I just did. The fourth result is specifically called "Where is the save data for FNaF World located? I would like to back up my saves, encase the new version ruins them."

FNaF 1-4 and FNaF World save in the same location. also, think about what you said. i want to see you make a game by yourself without some big-money professional dev kit and make it compatible with Steam Cloud, because to my knowledge, that's not just a little check-box you click when you're posting your game for the public.

Really? Because it doesn't have cloud saving? I've bought some mondern games that have no cloud saving either, but I'm not docking the game down for them.

First of all, one of the reason I use Steam is so that I won't have to face the problem you described with the PS3. In case if you don't understand, Steam Cloud exists so that we won't have to manually copy save files unlike older games.

Also, Steam Cloud is not a big-money professional dev kit (and dev kits are usually only used for console games anyway), so congratulations on picking the dumbest reasons to protect a game.

This game certainly has plenty of flaws in its current state, but this is hardly one of them.

Yeah sure, praise bad game design. Everyone should be learning how to start a fire with sticks and stones, then.
Kaiser GX Jan 27, 2016 @ 9:04pm
Cloud saving has nothing to do with "game design". Are you just tossing out words you hear?

i'm not saying the game's perfect. i'm saying you picked a stupid reason to hate it.
