To the people that say Undertale puts the Fnaf Series to shame.
I beg to differ the Fnaf series is one of the most knowen series ever and was extreamly populaur at a point in time. But not yet has Undertale beaten Fnaf, Fnaf stood strong for over 2 years and is still popular. It is not as popular as it was 2 years ago but it sparked what could be the biggest fandom with tons of spin offs and fake realeases and a good man behind it all. Now im not saying undertale is bad I do like it but it's not at all as Fnaf once was. Fnaf had an amazing twisted and secritve story that went on for 4 games. Fnaf will always be my first horror game ever, before I played Fnaf i would never had played a nother horror game but Fnaf took it easy and lead you through it step by step. But one chapter must come to an end and anotherone must start. But what I am saying is before you put Fnaf down think on how many theroirys there where. If you search up Five Nights at Freddys in google you get 8,050,000 resaults and if you search up Undertail you get 19,900,000 that is 10,000,000 but if you type undertale therys you get 536,000 but type only Five nights at freddys 1 therios you get 1,930,000 if you do Five nights at freddys 2 therois you get 124,000 and Five nights at freddys 3 122,000 and last 4 2,280,000 in toltal that is 4456000 resaults and that is not including youtube so before you put A VERY good game to shame do your reasearch first.

It's funny b/c 'Undertail' is how people refer to r34 of Undertale.

Ok misstypes sorry im in an extream rush and I am just typeing the fastest posible
No, FNAF is far from one of the most known games ever. And as sucky as it is to admit, the FNAF community is in shambles. We really only keep the fandom alive within ourselves. We've become more or less invisible to the rest of the gaming community. And Undertale has a much better story than FNAF (Not saying FNAF's story is bad) that could be wrapped up in only one game.
How does FNAF lead you through the game step-by-step? By some guy shouting at you through a phone and almost getting you killed half the time? And I don't think Google search results affect the quality of a game... The reason there are so many more FNAF theories is because FNAF needs theorizing. There's not much that's too complicated to understand in Undertale.
And I repeat, search results don't really affect the quality of a game.

Lets start with me saying everyone I know knew about Fnaf before I also I do know that the fandom is dead but the thought is never gone. I remember when only the first game was out how nice the fandom was but after fnaf 3 it all went to ♥♥♥♥. But I think it will always be A good game. Then you get the people that hate on it because they want to be famous and the other people who just want to be ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ then the people that just dont like the game. But really undertale is not bad but Fnaf will always be A good game to me and to alot of people. But also like I said "as one chapter comes to an end another one must start" saying that Fnaf had its time and now its undertales time. But when Fnaf 4 was anownced the hype sorta fell after that. Also if Fnaf is not well knowen then why was it talked about on the news or like the movie undertale (from what I know I dont keep up with the game) dosent have a movie (anncoued) but I understand what you mean the hype is not there for me any more ethier but I think if he made another game (that was not Fnaf) He would still get good reveiws. If there was a Fnaf 5 (Like there might be) I think the would come back (A littel bit) but I think there will be a Fnaf 5 because evedidence I found leads to a Fnaf 5. But in the end I know what you are saying.

1. 1/3 of this post is "fnaf has a movie, undertale doesnt."
2. There will not be a FNaF5.
3. They said it is not one of the most known games, not that it isn't well-known. Super Smash Bros. is well known, but not one of the most known games ever.

I don't understand why people compare them, Sure, they're both indie games, but they're nothing alike. It'd be like comparing CS:GO to Truck Simulator.

You have a very good point.

It's weird that people compare two different games to each other.
WeltaChara Mar 7, 2016 @ 5:38pm
as much as i love fnaf, and don't care for undertale, i'm still against what was said.
FIST OF ALL, fnaf was released a YEAR before undertale. a YEAR. undertale most likely has yet to reach its full potential.

and there will be no fnaf 5. scott has said this many times before.
RavageWaffle Mar 7, 2016 @ 6:42pm
both the games are good, Heck! im stuck on the (spoilers) sans fight for undertale and 20/20/20/20 mode on every fnaf game on moble

That means you didn't try Silent Hill or Alone in the dark.

Now, keeping in topic, both videogames are compared, mostly, because both games have lore and cartoonish characters (in terms of design).

While Five Nights At Freddy's focus more on the events back in 1987 regarding the pizzeria and those kids, as well as a simple gameplay design, Undertale is more like a Telltale's game (including its influencies in MOTHER/Earthbound) but the bullet-hell mechanic being the only feature not so much related to the story.

Also, Undertale was announced as a project back in 2013 (including a demo) and reached $47,000 USD approximately. That being said, it's the good point of FNAF, Scott didn't open a Kickstarter just to compensate their art department (yes, I know Scott worked alone, but that's a problem in game development if you don't have a team). Another point that I want to add is, Toby Fox apparently is the only one who worked as game designer, he addmited that he doesn't know so much about programming languages and we aren't sure about his studies in game development or design.

I'm not gonna complain about those two titles (I'm not a huge fan of both); I recognize their effort (Scott and Toby), but they need to learn high-level programming languages if they want to be recognized as game developers. At least I have high hopes with Scott because of his talent as a filmmaker.

I apologize for any misunderstanding or some grammar issues (my native language isn't English by the way).

Have a good day.

finally someone who understand . however my question to everyone is: why compare ? what change if your favourite game is the most popular , the most good ecc... afterall the only important thing is you like it ? doesn't matter for what , you like it well play it , doesn't matter what other people say or do .
