Is this game cross-platform multiplayer?

Any game will be fully functional with any device (given that it is still a computer). The reason for some games (rarely) to have specific mac versions would be to add more support for the mac, and sometimes reducing overall processing needs as macs are known for graphics, not processing power.

But yes, any games should have multi-platform support given you are using a computer, and your friend is using a computer as well.
