How do you light up all the lightbulbs in the Aetheric Observatory?
It's at the Starry Peak - Steppe - End. You have to take a trampoline in the south path to get to it (it's underground and Ordium Shrine-styled).

You can't, there's too many and they don't stay lit up long enough.

So it's literally an unsolvable puzzle?

I haven't unlocked it yet but I was thinking maybe the Light Arcanum could do the trick. I don't know what it looks like/how big its area of effect is, though.

It's not an unsolvable puzzle. The puzzle is that once every 15 minutes a miniboss called the neutrino spawns and you have until the next minute to kill it. It's specifically immune to magic but you can still freeze with the ice arcanum so it's an easy fight.

I don't understand: so we have to stay in that lightbulb room for 15 minutes until it spawns? What will defeating the Neutrino do?
Bennti Jul 18, 2018 @ 12:50pm
The neutrino spawns every quarter of an hour so it spawns at minute :15, :30, :45 and :00. for instance if it's say 4:05 then it will spawn on 4:15, 4:30, 4:45 and 5:00 with that pattern repeating and you have until the next minute so if you don't kill it then it despawns at the minute :16, :31, :46 and :01. Killing it gives you the the museum treasure of that area.

Huh, so that in-game clock buyable at the Airstrip comes in handy after all. So the lightbulbs are literally just decoration.

you can light all the bulbs at once using the earth arcanum. its wide ranging enough for that
no it does not do anything

i just learnt something
the lightbulbs are supposed to look like a real-life neutrino detection array
and the monster that appear there is a neutrino
