Questions to the old Clock tower fans
Hi guys,

Im a fan to the clock tower games, I first two games on the PSX and and then got back to play the one on the SNES lol yeah i discovered these games a little late.
I bought Night cry today and i'm still not ready to give a opinion about it.
But I do wonder what other veterans think about the game ?

I am not very far at all. I have a neutral opinion so far. I have been stuck once that made me frustrated (turns out I didn't look at ONE freaking thing lol). I like the villain but kinda miss the "HE'S A COMIN!" music that Clock Tower had. However, the lack of warning music makes for a more nervous experience lol I am only on chapter 2 right now and I hate the avoid the flashlight thing (at least I think that's what I do). I dislike it mostly because it reminds me of Siren and that game....THAT GAME..sparks a primal rage within lol

But I digress, I am super excited to continue playing. Horror is so rare and run and hide horrors even more so so I suspect I will have a hard time disliking the game overall :)
It starts off slow, but it slowly gets better, and then I got hooked. I think it starts hitting its stride towards the end of episode 1, picks up in 2, and hits its full stride in chapter 3.

I played Clock Tower, First Fear, Clock Tower 2, Clock Tower 3, and Haunting Ground. This game is most comparable to Clock Tower 2, partially for some crypticness and some references/full 3D point'n'click, but I think there are some wonderful scenes, especially in the later half of the game.

To me, even Night Cry is full of bugs and many annoying issue, it's still give me FULL experience of facing my fear just like the first time i've played Clock Tower 20 years ago.
I first two games on the PSX as well, they're hilariously bad. Then I NightCry, and it look just like the good old Clock Tower 2 which I first two on the PSX.

Make of that what you will.

Wow, I had no idea Clock Tower went as far back as the NES days. Anyway, I played the first and 3rd one (I skipped 2 because I heard it wasn't that good) and...I have some fond memories of the first one while 3 just seemed bats*** insane. I can take a schoolgirl running from terryfying monsters, then WTF when she turns into a super goddess during the final battles :P. But it was still an awesome game (and really wished it would release on PC, since Capcom is on a roll on supporting the platform lately).

Played the snes Clocktower,3 and Haunting Ground. It feels closest to the Snes Clocktower. It's a bit wonky and at first I wasn't too impressed but now about an hour in I'm really enjoying myself. I think that once I got over the control issues and overall lack of polish I started to warm to the game.

People die in bizarre and novel ways, that are more often than not fairly funny when combined with the heroine's reactions. It's like horror video game comfort food, it's more satisfying than scary, with gruesome environments that draw you in and intrigue more than unsettle you.

I think biggest issue is finding objects to use or hide behind. As this is in full 3d with huge spaces surrounding you and you dont know what to click on, CT1/2 were more intuitional and clear, in case of CT2 cursor was kinda glued to things you can use. Also unlike other games developer really forces you to click on same objects more than once so your character realizes he needs that object which is pissing me off. Also you are just gonna die because of camera goes nuts or you wont find a place to hide. Its really mess gameplay wise... im sorry to say but in my opinion this game is the worst out of all. Im on chapter 3 and I can barely force myself to continue.
