Not for me, the game is good.
I assume the main problem was the incredibly small budget. The total amount raised through crowdfunding was ~$350000, and that's so tiny these days that expecting something with the polish of, for example, Haunting Ground/Demento would have been unrealistic.
I'm not a developer, so what do I know, but it surprised me that they tried to give the game as much scope as they did. More than one location, multiple playable characters, etc, on a $300k budget? A bit ambitious if you ask me.
Probably just poorly advertised. I didn't even know this game existed till recently.
wrong
My OPINION can't be wrong...sorry
Yeah... I can't believe I found myself *wishing* for tank controls.
The story is all over the place and honestly, I would have rather just stuck with the very first main lead than jump between three of them: personally I thought that the first chapter at least built something up with a main lead that seemed to be flawed and could have a nice story progression.
But then I was thrown away from that to another chapter barley attached to the first one and the last chapter featured the protagonist I could relate to the least since it just felt like they slapped "tragic" onto the vague shape of a person and hoped that would garner all the sympathy I needed to protect her.
I don't dare to really make assumptions if it was due to budget constraints or kickstarter money or perhaps creative differences but for me, I feel that I would have overlooked a lot more of the flaws (I played the game at launch and can dearly just hope that they have worked some of the game breaking stuff out by this point).
But as it stood the story was far too scattered: I actually wish they would have made the scope smaller and might have come out with a product that felt more coherent.
And it is sad because I can see they had lofty ambitions and maybe thoughts of making this into a bigger story.
Suppose time will tell.
