everything except the player is blurry while moving
title says it all, haven't played the game in a while figured i would come back and play since 1.0 release, but it very difficult to play because of the motion blur effect of everything around the player while moving to the point that it makes my eyes hurt after playing for more than 30 minutes, any ideas on how to fix this would be much appreciated

Did you get a new monitor since last time you played?
There is no motion blur in this game, so maybe your monitor is creating ghosting.

Any other games that shows this artifact?

Does your monitor refresh faster than 60?

If so try setting the refresh down to 60 I found that helped when I had similar issues a while back, the games V-sync didn't help and my own monitors G-sync did nothing either.

idk how well it can noticed with this crappy video i made of what i am referring to.

asus z390-e
I9-9900k
2080 ti ftw3
32 gig of ram

monitor is an asus vp28uqg 4k 60hz, dp 1.4 cable

i havent noticed any blurring in any other games like this.

i have spent a couple of days messing with settings in the nvidia control panel, windows settings, every possible combo of settings in the game, i have tried different display cords, every hdmi cord i have, i have tried using on board video so far nothing has fixed it, usually it just gets worse.

i don't see any blur in this video (looking at buildings the hole time), but not smooth cam movement.

i think that is just the way youtube processed the video because when i recorded it there wasnt any jerking or studdering in the camera movement,
as of today i have tried playing the game on 6 different monitors and 3 different tvs ranging from and old 800x600 crt, a samsung 1080p, a samsumg 1440p, a Acer Nitro XV273K monitor and they all have the same effect. im am out of ideas at this point

The whole thing looks blurry up until the 15 second mark, when everything is clear. Is that what you are talking about?
Hobo B. Beggins Aug 23, 2020 @ 11:16am
ya, when character isnt moving everything is crystal clear then when you are moving its like everything except the character blurs out to the point that things on the conveyors are just a fuzzy streak and all the buildings have no detail

I can't see anything wrong in that video. That's looking like Factorio as I know it.

The video looks totally fine with no blur at all for entire duration of video when looking at fullscreen HD quality. If you see blur while watching it even from youtube then your monitor settings are really off.

The thing you mean, monitor ghosting can't be caught on video unless you record with phone.

The video doesn't look blurry to me if I set the video quality high enough....

have you forced yt to 1080p or higher. because even when yt know you are on high res, it needs around 15sec to load up/change to the high res version while streaming the low res at first.

just watched it on youtube instead of via-steam. forced it to 1080p60 and it's not blurry. good call.

im having the same issue, im considering if its ghosting but it seems to persist between both my monitors and my secondary monitor is my former main that i used to play factorio on before building a new computer.
it also feels weird that the MC doesnt blur when everything else does, thats not how ghosting works is it?
did op ever find a fix?
