Can't invite friends

this isn't only factorio issue, but basically in any game when you right click on your friend in the list, you should be able to invite him to game. BUT the option to invite to game is not shown for me. I only have invite to watch there.

That usually only works for games that use the steam api / MP servers to host the games directly.
Factorio uses its own servers, so that method is impractical as many Factorians do not use steamy. (Same reasoning applies to the ingame mod portal vs the steam workshop.)

Just start a public MP game, set a PW to make it private, & your buddy can join via the "browse public games" list. Or vice-versa (they host, you join).
Easy-peasy. :)

So, you are telling me, that Portal2, CS:GO, Terraria and Factorio don't use steam MP api.
