Chain signals?
So I've gotten around to using trains around 12 hours in. I've tried using chain signals with the "Chain in, rail out" rule, but I just couldn't figure them out, so I stuck with basic rail signals, but an issue arose where my trains would get stuck and not let the other train(s) go even with a clear path. I've thought of making every rail network its own but that takes up a lot of space and is very newbie.

How do I use chain signals? Help would be appreciated.

First make sure that you have "show rail block visualization" turned on in the interface settings. And that you use alt mode. It will make train signals much easier.

A chain signal is basically a signal that makes sure a train does not have to stop in the block that comes after it. That is it. It really is that simple.
Chain signals "look forward" and only allow a train to pass them if that train can get into a block guarded by a normal rail signal further on.
If this sounds too complicated I suggest you look up the DoshDoshington video on rails in 5 minutes or something like that. It's short and to the point
