Make sure you put down the roboport far outside your existing roboport range so no bots can fulfull the request, go to map view, set a request for bots in it (not the logistics request thingy in the bottom, but where the physical robots are stashed).
You can also set "logistics requests" to control where bots "go to sleep", from what I understand.
What I can't do, not saying it is impossible I'm just saying I can't make it work, is do the same thing with construction bots instead of logi bots. My bots will build the roboport but they won't add the construction bots in it. I made sure I had a lot more bots in inventory than my personal roboports capacity, just in case it was because the game reserved those for the player. Still did not work.
But the construction bots from a logistic network can do it. They build the roboport, then a 2nd wave of bots deliver the const bots that are part of the blueprint.
As an alternative test, you could see if the logi bots will take con bots from your trash slots and use them to stock the roboport's con bot request.
