how to switch railway tracks

Hello! How can I tell my train to drive "left". English is not my first language, I don't know how to describe it properly. Two railway tracks are kind of "joined" and I don't want to drive straight, I want to take "the other way".

If you drive manually, you just press "a" for left "d" for right, in the direction you're traveling.
You need to press it before the intersection.

The trains drive with the signals on the right. So if you have two parallel tracks if the signals are between the two tracks the trains will be on the left. If you play signals on the out side of the two tracks the will drive on the right.
