Transfering saves

Is there a way to transfer my save from the non steam version to the steam version?

Yup, simply find where your non-steam copy is installed and copy the contents of the 'saves' subdirectory. Find where your Steam install is, then paste the saves under Steam/SteamApps/common/Factorio/saves.

Might not even need to copy them.

I didn't have to copy the saves at all from a pirated version to the steam version when I bought the game. The pirated game and my steam game both use the (user)/appdata/roaming/factorio/saves directory
