How to turret creep on steam deck?

The game runs great and controls are fine for the most part, except turret creeping, by the time i put down the turrets and pick up ammo, worms always destroy a few turrets, or I die before managing to put ammo in. Anybody got controls tips please? And yes there are some turrets outside worms range but they cant kill the worms either

If you can use shortcuts, put your ammo in the hotbar next to the turrets, it should be easier that way.

Otherwise, there is a mod that automatically places ammo and fuel:
