Speed adjust
Just bought the game after trying demo and a couple of youtube guides (from start to endgame).
For me this game is to too fast to play, so I've set up speed to 0.5 and this seems to be comfortable for planning things (as far as I'm not even using hotkeys yet).
Question is - will it be hard to adjust to normal speed later, and is it worth it at all to play at 0.5 game speed?
The reason why I'm asking is because most game speed-related topics I've searched was about game being too slow, not too fast, and that I've read that it takes from 10 hours for beginner to launch a satellite at normal speed.
Thanks in advance!

Instead of going at slower speed, I would just set up a map with biters on Peaceful mode. That will enable you to gather alien artifacts, while the biters will not attack you. (They will aggro you only if you attack them first).

Also, using (most) console commands will disable achievements, so be aware of that. (The wiki doesn't say specfically if speed change does that).

The topics you looked at are grossly over estimating a beginner's time to learn. A beginner to the game will launch a rocket in 20-30 hours at a MINIMUM. 10 hours is FAST, even for an experienced player.

Learn on Peaceful mode, and go at normal speed. You'll be glad you did.
I agree with Katherine, keep the speed at 1. I think speed 0.5 would just make you frustrated in the long run. Speed 0.5 means that everything is at half speed.
Planning your factory will also take longer as you need twice as long to put down a belt or pick up a machine. The same goes for mining trees, stones and other resources.
When you want to go from one side of the factory to the other side it will take twice as long. Trains and belts will move with half the speed. Day and night will last twice as long.
Even the framerate (FPS) will go down from 60 to 30.

Yes, speed change does disable achievements. As a rule of thumb every console command that doesn't have an extra command (like /color or /evolution do) will disable achievements.

Specifically, every command that starts with /c, /command, /measured-command or /silent-command will cause achievements to be disabled, even if the command entered is invalid.
