Roboports and frames, "ratio" ?
Hey there,
I got 800 flying robot frames and 20 Roboports. How should I set them up? Is there a ratio between frame > port < Logi/Construction ? Does it even matter?

Edit:
Another thing;
Is it wise to overlap all of them, so that basically everything is covered in orange, or will it bottleneck something?

Construction robots are only used if you want to tear something down or place something. Logistics bots are used for hauling stuff around between factories. Construction robots can move around both the green and orange sections. Logistics bots are confined to the orange sections.

Overlap won't hurt you in any way.

1 frame->1 robot.

Are frames dedicated to a certain role (for example 10 frames > 5Logistic - 5 Construction), or are they "universal" ? Not sure how to feed them in atm. And how many per port?

Frames are a component of both types of robots -- they are an intermediate product. You don't feed them directly to roboports -- they are fed to assemblers that actually make the robots.

What kind of balance between both variants would you recommend? And how many per port?

Robots are shared between connected roboports, so only the total amounts matter.

The balance depends on your playstyle. I use mostly belts, so for starters, I'll have 1k construction robots, and maybe 500 logistics bots.

If you use a logistics based (robot) delivery system, (lots of passive providers and requester chests), you would need to have a SIGNIFICANT amount of bots for deliveries. How many? Depends on the size of your newwork.

You can use a system of automatic delivery where you can have robots added based on conditions you set. E.g. Total Logistics and/or Construction Bots in the sytem, or FREE bots in the system. (e.g. if all of them are being used, you may want to add more to the system).

Several people use this method, especially for logistics bots insertion, as it grows with their factory.

Since my larger numbers are of construction bots, I like to keep their numbers limited, especially with large projects, as bots will continue being made, and then I might have a surplus of 5k bots.. which, to me, is a waste of resources.

I have a video here which is a tutorial on how to set up automatic injection of robots into your system:
