How do I recycle items back into my logistics network while making them available again for use?
I can't figure out how to do this, but there must be a way. Say I want to deconstruct a group of asemblers and belts so that I can reconstruct them. If I mark them for deconstruction, then I understand that my robots will place them into requester chests or storage chests. If I put them into requester chests though, they won't be taken back out. If I have an inseter put them from the requester chest into a provider chest, they'll just create an infinite loop. If I put them into a storage chest, then they'll try to fill the chest with everything in any provider chest right?

The best I can do is request items personally, but the robots currently holding items don't seem to be prioritized over the chest contents.

Have the requester chest empty into a passive chest using an inserter

The passive chest won't fill the requester chest?

An ACTIVE provider will put things into storage, but a passive provider will only provide things for personal logistics, requester chests, and construction. Deconstructed items will go to requesters or storage.

OP, the solution is simple: place down yellow Storage chests.

Robots' priority is to grab from Storage first, then Passive Providers.

(Active providers simply empty themselves into Storage).

Requesters should be used for assemblers, trains, etc... NOT for construction, as robots will not take out of requesters to place items down.

Isn't this a non-issue, though? If you have requester chests requesting those items, then there's a demand for those, and you'd surely also have a provider that stores the production output of said items ?

So when you put your deconstucted stuff down again it would just take from those providers if not everything was stored in storage.

I suck at thinking of all cases or more elaborate setups for his kind of stuff, so maybe I'm just missing something here.

It might be a situation where the OP wants to keep the items he deconstructed, but yellow inserters and yellow belts are used by green research, so might have a requester for them.

If not, then just use storage chests. They accept items from anything (most likely deconstruction though), and can give their contents to construction right back. Just be careful not to use purple "Active" chests though.

If you want something deconstructed, use yellow chests (storage: if there's no where for them to go, they go there)
If you need items for something, use a requester chest (they won't be taken back out)
If you don't know what to use, I'd reccomend using red chests. (Can be taken out and put into blue chests, most useful is red)
