Multiple trains in a single rail block....how?
So, trains are the bloodlines of my factory. It is pretty freaking big. Everything works, however, things would be more efficient and faster if two trains could be in the same rail block (one train following the other one, they just take a different turn down the track)
Can someone help me with this?
Thanks <3

Divide long straights with train signals (3 lights) into multiple smaller chunks.
One way to do this is always have another signal after max train length.
Note: This works for one way rail systems with rails for each direction.

Blocks are what keep trains from running into each other. If you want trains to follow more closely, then add more signals to the line. You can make blocks a minimum of two tiles long if you so desire.

If you really have throughput issues, though, consider creating additional routes, longer trains, etc.

Yeah, I kinda wish there was a signal that would allow multiple trains on the same block. In my tracks, I have long stretches of straight track without any break-offs. I wish I didn't have to place signals every few spaces as there is absolutely no way the trains get crash into each other once on that stretch, unless one train for some reason was moving faster.

There used to be a mod that implements this behaviour (alluded to here[forums.factorio.com]) but I can't remember the name and don't know if it is still active.

You're missing the point. Signals separate tracks into blocks. You NEVER want more than 1 train per block. That's how it works. If you want to easily place signals, try using blueprints with tracks already signaled, or use a mod called FARL, which will auto-place signals.
